Craigslist Posting Tips

Thanks to the new phone verification, posting on Craigslist isn't exactly what it used to be. I would pay attention as many of you probably still post in the Jobs section, but ask yourself, doesn't it make sense that they will move phone verification to the jobs section next? For those that don't already know here are some tips on how I would post on Craigslist especially in the services section

  • Uniqueness - Craigslist spam filters look for similarities. This includes the title of the ad and the main body. When posting your ad make sure that it is at least 20% different from any other ad you have posted. Doing this helps get around being ghosted.
  • Frequency - In the services section post no more than 3 ads every 48 hours. If you exceed this limit you will get a message telling you that your posting limit has been reached. If you continue to over post you will most likely get your account blocked. A blocked account just means you can't post in the services section, you can still post in every other section on Craigslist. So having a blocked account isnt the end of the world, just an end to your services posting with that account.
  • Cookies - Clean your cookies! Everyone should know this, don't forget it. Clean your cookies between accounts as if you don't it leaves a trace and Craigslist may catch onto what you are doing.
  • IP - change your IP every few minutes or posts. I would post no more than 5 minutes or 20 ads using the same IP. 20 ads per IP is very high and runs the risk of getting banned. Anywhere from 5 - 10 is safer.
Anyone who has experience posting on Craigslist will already know the above tips. For the beginners they are important so please remember them.

Craigslist Phone Verification

It is spreading like wild fire and causing major havoc on Craigslist. Some time ago Craigslist introduced phone verification into the erotic services section. After a period of testing it was finally introduced into all the services section. Basically, before you can post in the services section now, you must verify your Craigslist account via phone. This is a simple process that involved inputting your phone number, receiving a phone call and a code and then typing it in. Once done your account is ready to post on Craigslist with. Since phone verification was introduced, a few things have changed. There are a lot stricter rules on how often you can post and your ads must be more unique than the previous spam rules allowed. The good side however is that many spammers have been eliminated from posting as they live outside of the USA or live in the USA but can not get enough phone numbers to continue posting like they used to. All in all, I think phone verification has had a positive effect on Craigslist.

Craigslist Proxy

You might be wondering why someone would need a Craigslist Proxy. In fact there are a few very legitimate reasons why a person may need one. This all stems from how Craiglists was designed and functions as the world's largest and most heavily trafficked online classified website.

The first reason why someone might need a proxy to unblock Craigslist is due to their IP or spam filtering system. Craigslist, in an attempt to limit spam on the website, has several filters in place that log IPs and the amount of ad posts from each specific IP. If during a given time there is an excessive amount of posts from one IP, this will trigger their spam filtering system and that IP will be blocked. The exact duration of this block is unknown, but the common understanding is that initially it is a temporary block lasting only a few hours/days and then there is the hard block. The hard block may last weeks or months or even years. Some people have reported that after a year, IPs that were originally blocked once again work, but this is not the case for everyone. To get an IP blocked for such a length of time, one must be posting hundreds or possibly even thousands of posts day in and day out. If this does happen to you, then the only way you can get your ads showing up again is to change your IP. This is where a proxy for Craigslist which would provide the user with a fresh new IP comes in handy.

The second reason someone may require a proxy to post on Craigslist with is that they wish to remain completely anonymous. IPs enable anyone, with the right tools, to track down and identify your location. Craigslist is a heavily trafficked sight, and with it brings the downside of such a popular website. Changing your IP constantly and regularly will improve your chances of remaining completely anonymous or at the very least, make it increasingly difficult for anyone to track your exact location. Again this is where a proxy is useful as it can provide you with a unique or different IP on request.

Being able to change your IP, while not important for some, is vital for others. There are many reasons why someone may required a Craigslist Proxy and these include only a few examples of increasingly your level of anonymity and avoiding an IP blocks that may be in place. No matter your reason for wanting to use a proxy on Craigslist, I wish you all the best in your money making ventures on the world's largest online classified website, Craigslist :)
