Flagging and a Craigslist Proxy?

Do you find that your ADS are constantly being flagged off of Craigslist? The first misconception that I often see it people mistakenly believing that their ads being flagged has something to do with their IP address or their CL account. Most of the times this is completely untrue.

If ads are flagged on Craigslist it is because visitors to Craigslist considered your ad spam or unappropriate, it has nothing to do with any kind of Craigslist detection. You will find that your ads are usually flagged for these reasons:

A. What you are posting on Craigslist is spam or perceived as spam. In terms of content, posting frequency or posting locations.

B. Someone else who is in the same market as you has decided to flag your ads so they can sell more. All they need to do is flag your ads or get someone else to do it. You will find that such groups of this kind exist with the sole purpose of flagging people off Craigslist.

The main cause of your ad getting flagged is usually one of the above. It usually is not due to your Craigslist proxy.

Password Protection Needed For Craigslist Proxy?

Thinking about setting up a Craigslist Proxy and curious about why or if a password is really needed to access it?. No-one likes to constantly have to enter passwords repeatedly but don't neglect them as they are essential. Since a proxy server is on the internet, it is possible that anyone could gain access to the server if they knew the IP. However, some may think that finding the IP of your proxy server is next to impossible due to the large amount of other machines and IPs on the internet. In this day and age there are a multitude of tools that can make IP scanning a very simple process and allow someone to scan thousands and thousands of IPs in a very short time. For this reason it is strongly suggested that you ALWAYS use a login and password on your proxy server. If someone else gains access to your proxy server then you can be held liable for any damages that they do through the use of it. If you want to save time, instead of not using a password, there are many other applications and programs out there that will automaticallys handle username and passwords for logging into your proxy. Use these instead as they will achieve what you want (speeding up the login process) but also alow you to retain the high level of security that your Craigslist Proxy requires.

Craigslist Proxy - Problem Getting Ads Up On Craigslist

Ads not going live on Craigslist? Can't figure it out? There are a number of reasons why you might be having problems getting ads to stick on Craigslist. These tips should help you to get your ads to stick.

First, don't use words that you think might not be suitable for the category. When putting ads in the for sale area, don't post ads which aren't about items for sale. Craigslist uses complex filters to try and stop people from posting ads in the wrong section. Each section on Craigslist is different and most likely uses a different set of filters. Second, avoid using any special html codes outside of what Craigslist supports. Craigslist lists on their site which html codes they permit and using unsupported codes may mean your ads are blocked. Third, limit the number of posts you make per day per IP. Ideally you want to post no more than 1 ad per IP each day. Posting more than this this will work, but posting an excessive amount of ads increases the chances that you will be flagged. Finally, try to not use html imags. Some section do permit the use of html images but posting images still increases the chance your ad will be blocked. Other sections do not permit images at all and all ads with images are blocked.

Posting ads on Craigslist can be troublesome, but by following the above tips you should reduce the amount of trouble. You may also consider looking into a Craigslist proxy to improve the rate of your ads going live.
